
Suzanne Pleshette was an American voice actress, actor, and film actor. She lived from January 31st, 1937, until January 19th, 2008. Pleshette began her acting career in the theatre and appeared in films in late 1950s. Later, she was an important actor in films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She also appeared in numerous television productions, often as a guest actor, and she played Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, earning several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born January 31, 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. The parents of her were Jewish, the children of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was an artist and dancer who performed under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage manager at both the Paramount Theater and Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
