Despacito by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song most streamed within less than six weeks. In 2017, the song Despacito which was a mix of reggaeton with pop music was not only a way to bring new focus to reggaeton, but also brought more attention to Latin music. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs mostly in Spanish as of 2016, in contrast to just two songs in 2015. In the height of Despacito's chart-topping success in 2017, 19 tracks primarily in Spanish reached at the very top of 100. The number grew to 41 by 2020. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with an English version in the year 2017. In the year following, famous artists started working with reggaeton acts. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018), while Madonna collaborated on Medellin along with Maluma (2019). The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became an issue for certain performers by 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, determined to maintain the style. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music and other forms.
